The Monster Energy Tour Lands in Coffs Harbour
Hall Chases Standings Lead as PBR Debuts in Coffs Harbour.

PBR Australia's Monster Energy Tour invades the mid North Coast of New South Wales this Saturday, 12 September, for the 2026 Coffs Harbour Invitational.
A huge night of action will kick off at the Coffs Harbour Showgrounds with the Can-Am Junior Academy and Challenger Series competitions from 4:00 p.m. AEST. The Monster Energy Tour main event will follow at 7:00 p.m.
This week's pen features many of the bulls the cowboys faced over the two nights at Hawkesbury last weekend, but there are some very tough additions from north of the border. If the riders can reach the season's average riding percentage of 27.43%, I think they will be doing well.

Hall’s total of 243.80 points put him ahead of Tyson Smith, who finished second with the highest-scoring ride of the weekend in the Championship Round. Keny Roger de Oliveira claimed third place.
Hall Continues Hot Streak with Dominant Hawkesbury Invitational Win
This will be the first edition of the Monster Energy Coffs Harbour Invitational.
Events in the region were held in Grafton and Kempsey between 2017 and 2019. Event winners included Bradie Gray, Harry Bridges, Lachlan Slade, Aaron Kleier and Cliff Richardson.

Twenty-three riders will go head-to-head over two rounds of competition, with $20,000 in prize money up for grabs. All riders will face a bull in both Round 1 and Round 2. The rider with the highest aggregate score will be crowned the event champion.
A maximum of 280 points will be available to any individual rider towards the 2025 PBR Australian National Standings. Each round winner will receive 40 points, and the event champion will receive 200 points.

Hall continues charge towards Gold Buckle
Entering Origin III on the first weekend of August, Zane Hall was fourth in the PBR Australia National Standings, almost 1000 points behind ratings leader Kurt Shephard.
The push that Hall has produced since donning the Maroons jersey in Sydney has been incredible. He has ridden 10 of his last 13 bulls, with 9 of those rides strong enough to finish in the top 3 of their respective rounds. He won event champion buckles in Sydney, Adelaide and Hawkesbury, added two further top 4 finishes and amassed over $56,0000 in prizemoney.
The run has earned him 1087 championship points, and he now sits in second place, just 111 points behind the leader. Compare this to No. 1 ranked Shephard’s 226 points and No. 3 ranked Oliveira’s 418 points over the same period.
Grand Finals Bubble race tightens
Only the top 20 riders in the National Standings are guaranteed a spot at the Grand Finals in Townsville, so with only six regular-season events remaining, time is running out for those outside the cut line to secure their qualification.
Dylan Weir currently sits in the No. 20 spot on 346.50 championship points. Riders ranked below him, down to 27th, are within an event win (200 points) of the line, and a further 5 cowboys are within an event win and a round win (240 points). There are also four riders within 100 points of the cut line, ranked No. 16 to 19 in the standings.
We should expect to see a lot of movement on this part of the leaderboard over the next couple of weekends.

Sam Woodall on B02 Da Bear (Lazy G Bucking Bulls/Pukallus)
The Heywood talent has bucked off his last six bulls since winning the event at Melbourne at the beginning of this run of events, but it’s not for lack of trying, and there have been a few handy bulls amongst his list of opponents. Things get statistically easier here. Da Bear has been one of the best draws on tour for right-handed riders, with a 47% success rate and scores in the 84-point range common. This bull will likely turn back into Woodall’s hand and give him every chance to start his night right.
Keny Roger de Oliveira on 2840 Midnight (MC Bucking Bulls)
These two have met twice previously in PBR Australia competition, and both times Oliveira has come away with the win. He scored 80.60 points at the Sydney Meatstock Touring Pro in April and 83.90 points at Hawkesbury last weekend. Left-handed bull riders are 4-from-5 aboard this bull, and they average around 83 points each time they convert. Midnight consistently rides to the left, which will put him into the Brazilian veteran’s powerful riding hand. He has ridden six of his last ten bulls.
Kurt Shephard on 810 Joker (Dittmann Bucking Bulls)
Joker is unridden in his ten trips in PBR Australia competition, but a few high-ranked riders have taken him a long way into the clock, and I think Shephard can break the buck-off streak here. This bull has shown us two trips in his career. He either spins to the left at the latch with a late reversal of direction, or he fakes to the left and turns back to the right a jump or two from the chutes. Three of the Mareeba cowboys’ last five qualified rides have come aboard bulls that have turned back away from his hand, and we know how solid he is riding bulls that choose to spin to the left and into his hand. He let a great chance for a top 3 finish slip by last weekend in the final round at Hawkesbury, and I like him on the quick backup here.
Ky Borghero on 22 White Nite (K3F - Farley Bucking Bulls/Caban)
The Proserpine young gun has climbed into the top 10 in the National Standings, and he has a good chance to climb even higher here this weekend. White Nite appears to prefer a spin to the left, which will put him into Borghero’s hand. At Hawkesbury last weekend, leftie Charlie Bailey took him to 6.45 seconds in Round 1, and Rylee Ward also went past the 6-second mark, riding away from his hand in Round 2. We haven’t seen anyone take this bull the distance since Colby Edgar won the opening round at Scone with 84 points in his first appearance on tour, but the riders are getting closer to making it work, and I think Borghero will be the cowboy to get him done.
Zane Hall on 127 Road Rage (Dittmann Bucking Bulls)
Mouthwatering matchup. With the form Hall has shown on tour over the past month or so, we could see Road Rage’s 19-out unbeaten streak under threat. This is a rematch from the Nowra Invitational last season, where the bull won in 2.23 seconds. The bull will turn back to the left and into the Athol talent’s hand, but the difficulty with this bull is his timing, which leaves most riders unstuck around the 3-second mark. His rhythm is hard to match at first, but I think after he works into his spin, the timing might improve and we could see some big numbers awarded.
Rylee Ward on 1604 Little Scar Maker (ST Bucking Bulls)
Ward has bucked off his last six bulls, but many of his buck-offs have come very late in the ride, and he hasn’t faced many bulls that have turned back into his hand. Little Scar Maker appears to prefer a spin to the right when bucking from the left delivery, but he can make a quick rotation to the left to begin. These two combined for 85 points at the Grand Finals in 2024, and the Kiwi is the only right-handed rider to get the job done. The most recent of the six recorded scores went to Ethan Coster for 84.10 points and a round win at Toowoomba Meatstock Touring Pro. If Ward can land in those areas, I think he will be very satisfied.
