Zane Hall has continued his dominance at recent PBR Australia tour events, claiming his fifth win of the season at the 2026 Monster Energy Hawkesbury Invitational on Saturday night.

It was the 24-year-old's third win over the past five weeks of competition, going 3-for-3 at the Showgrounds in Clarendon to finish with a total score of 243.80 points and earn more than $6,000 in prizemoney.

Hall returned to the No. 2 spot in the 2026 PBR Australian National Standings and now finds himself well within striking distance of reclaiming the top spot, which he held earlier in the season.

The Athol bull rider was prepared to play the long game on Friday night, declining a Round 1 re-ride option to retain the 73.20 points he posted aboard Gone Rogue (MC Bucking Bulls/Dittmann) on the event leaderboard.

He then added 85.50 points in a favourable matchup against Asmodeus (Swain Cattle Company) in Saturday's Round 2, moving into the event lead as the only rider perfect through two rounds. The score split the round win, with the bull turning back to the left and into his riding hand.

With the first pick in the Championship Round draft, Hall selected MSG Locating Filthy Rich (Lazy G Bucking Bulls). The pair had previously met four times in PBR Australia competition, with the bull holding a 3-to-1 edge.

Hall repeated his success from their most recent matchup at Scone, this time posting 85.10 points, handling Filthy Rich's mid-ride direction to finish strong into his hand and retake the lead on the final out of the event.

Tyson Smith posted his best result of the season, finishing runner-up with a 2-bull score of 171.50 points. He covered Honey Hole (Lazy G Bucking Bulls) into his right riding hand for 84.60 points in the opening round. 

The Tumut cowboy then won the Championship Round with the highest ride score of the weekend, 86.90 points, in his matchup with the previously unridden Candy Paint (Lazy G Bucking Bulls/Pakallus/Edgar), which spun to the right not far from the latch.

Keny Roger de Oliveira finished with two scores totalling 170.70 points, adding an eighth top-3 finish to his 2026 record.

The Brazilian talent's points all came on Saturday night. He first covered Midnight (MC Bucking Bulls) for 83.90 points and then added 86.60 points in the short-go aboard BJ (K3F – Farley Bucking Bulls) for a second time. Oliveira had previously ridden both bulls in PBR Australia competition, and both turned back to the left and into his hand again.

Willow Tree veteran Clint Glass backed up his strong finish at Caboolture last week with another top-4 finish. His 85.50 points came from his Round 2 matchup with Holy Poly (MC Bucking Bulls), and he split the round win with Zane Hall.

Kurt Shephard held on to claim fifth place, winning Round 1 aboard Uppercut with an 85-point ride. The bull faked right before turning back left and into the Mareeba bull rider's hand. The win earned Shephard a bonus $5,000 cheque as the leader at the conclusion of Friday night’s competition.

Tamworth's Daniel Rogan finished sixth after doing his job aboard Crooked Intention (Morgys Cattle Company/Wildcard) in Round 2, scoring 84.60 points. Rockhampton's Caiden Sandilands' opening-round ride aboard Hanging High (Swain Cattle Company) was awarded 83.80 points, enough for the seventh spot.

Oberon duo Jack Rowlandson and Charlie Bailey finished with scores of 83.40 and 83.20, placing eighth and ninth. 

Young gun Ky Borghero was close behind, rounding out the top 10 with 83.10 points, while Ben Bode and Thomas Triplett completed the rundown with 82.40 and 73.10 points.

With his fifth-place finish at Hawkesbury, Kurt Shephard retains the No. 1 spot in the 2026 PBR Australian National Standings. He earned 94 championship points, bringing his total to 2087.

Zane Hall regained second place after his win. He collected 276 points, and he now trails Shephard by just 111 points.

Keny Roger de Oliveira was relegated to third despite his strong finish this weekend, picking up 142 points, with the gap between himself and Shephard settling at 238 points.

The other movers inside the top 10 were Clint Glass, who moved up one spot to 7th place, and Ky Borghero, who also moved up one place into 9th.

Event runner-up Tyson Smith was the big mover of the week, jumping up eleven spots to sit around the Grand Finals cut line in 23rd place after earning 201 points.

The YETI Bucking Bull of the Event award went to Sky High (Morgys Cattle Company), who was marked 43.10 points in his 3.31-second matchup with Thomas Triplett in Round 1. The buck-off extended his unbeaten streak to 27 outs in a row and pushed him into 12th place in the Bucking Bull of the Year race.

Canadian Club (Maynes), Candy Paint (Lazy G/Pakallus/Edgar) and Booga Wooga (Lazy G) each produced 43-point trips.

The riders finished the weekend with a riding percentage of 27.12%, while the bulls averaged a bull score of 41.49 points. Both man and beast finished very close to the 2026 season averages in both categories.
