Australia’s bull riding future is absolutely fearless, with an epic lineup of juniors, from Pee Wee Division to Rising Stars, set to battle for the country’s top junior buckles in Tamworth on Saturday October 25 at the PBR Australia Can-Am Junior Academy Finals.

Riders from across Queensland and New South Wales will descend on Tamworth, with a strong showing from both states. Of the 40 top competitors, 26 hail from New South Wales and 14 from Queensland, proving just how deep the bull riding talent runs on both sides of the border. From Singleton, Barraba and Gunnedah through to Gympie, Banana and Biloela, the next generation of bull rides are ready to buck!

It’s FREE to watch the PBR Australia Can-Am Junior Academy Finals. Gates open at 11am with the action starting at 12 noon on Saturday October 25.

The competition also highlights incredible family talent in the sport.

In the Rising Stars Division, twins Cody and Kyle Sternbeck, 18 years old from Willow Tree near Tamworth, will go head-to-head in the arena. The Thomas brothers from NSW’s Glendonbrook - Judd (12), Dustin (9), and Clay (8) - will all compete, while the Berry boys from Gunnedah, Bobby (8) and current Pee Wee leader Chase (10), are riding strong. Barraba siblings Noah (11) and Brax Lowe (13) and the Gympie brothers Jasper (9) and Chase Wieland (14) also bring their family rivalry to the event.

Adding to the excitement, crowd favourite 11-year-old Sonny Heffernan from Singleton, who recently notched his 50th career PBR Junior Academy ride, will take to the arena.

“PBR Australia’s Can-Am Junior Academy is more than a ride or a series, it’s the breeding ground for the next generation of champions. These young athletes are born for this and represent the future of bull riding in Australia,” said PBR Australia Managing Director Glen Young.
