Alison Aguiar went 3-for-4 at the 2025 Mackay Invitational this weekend to win his third PBR Australia Monster Energy event of the season, in front of a massive crowd at BB Print Stadium.
After a tough couple of months on tour, the flamboyant Brazilian bounced back in Nowra last weekend with a third-place finish, and with his win this week, he now finds himself ranked fourth in the National Standings.
He finished with an aggregate total of 253 points and took home $7,250 in prize money.
Aguiar opened his account late in Round 1 on Friday evening aboard Forever Young (MJ/Keliher Bucking Bulls), snapping the bull’s 24-out buck off streak to score 82 points.
He was then down early in the second round, courtesy of Road Rage (Dittmann Bucking Bulls) and finished the night ranked sixth on the event leaderboard.
The 29-year-old kicked off his Saturday night on Jackie Red (Dunne Bulls) in Round 3. The pair battled around to the right and into Aguiars’ right riding hand for much of the contest, and the judges awarded the ride 82.5 points.
He then teamed up with Revolver (Dunne Bulls) in the final round to record the season's highest qualified ride score - 88 points. The bull did everything possible to unseat his opponent in the early stages of the ride, but they eventually synced up to finish the ride strong. The bull’s share of the score was 42.50 points, with Aguiar awarded a sensational rider score of 45.50 points.
During the presentation ceremony, speaking in his native Portuguese, Aguiar said it was a pleasure to ride in front of PBR Fans in Mackay and expressed his gratitude for their support.

Clint Glass continued his hot streak, finishing second with three qualified rides totalling 250.50 points. The Willow Tree cowboy rode Hell Raiser (TF Bucking Bulls) in the opening round for 82.50 points. He then combined with Revolver (Dunne Bulls) for 86.00 points to share the round win and finished night one in second place.
In Round 3, Glass did his job against Riddle Me This (CF7 Bucking Bulls) for 82 points, but he couldn't stay perfect in the final round, coming down early from Forever Young (MJ/Keliher Bucking Bulls). He won a total of $5,000 in prize money.
Donnie Rutherfurd won Round 1 aboard Ambush (CF7 Bucking Bulls) with 85.5 points and split the Round 2 with Glass, with his 86-point ride aboard Revolver (Dunne Bulls) for a two-bull total of 176 points.
The Mount Isa talent earned a $5,000 bonus for leading the competition at the halfway point, boosting his total prize money for the weekend past $9,000, but he couldn't take advantage of his strong start, bucking off both of his bulls on Saturday night.
Thomas Hudson finished fourth after delivering qualified rides in Rounds 1 and 3. The Dungog bull rider’s first score was 82 points on Seven Eleven (CF7 Bucking Bulls/Pugh Bros/ADS Mining Services), followed by 84.50 points on Cover Up (CF7 Bucking Bulls).
Brazilian Luan Crystian Camara also finished his weekend with a 2-from-4 riding record. He rode On Edge (TF Bucking Bulls/Jaxon Burrell) for 81 points in Round 2, and in the final round, he added 84 points aboard Ambush (CF7 Bucking Bulls).
Zane Hall was the best-placed rider with one score, finishing fifth after he rode Double Shot (TF Bucking Bulls) for 85 points in Round 2.
Kurt Shephard, Ben Bode, Caiden Sandilands and Kelsey Pavlou all finished with one score to fill positions 6th through 10th.
It was a tough weekend for the Cowboys, with the strength of the bull pen and the four gruelling rounds leading to numerous withdrawals due to injury that we'll need to monitor as we edge closer to the 2025 PBR Australia Grand Finals.
