The Great Western Hotel is gearing up for a huge night of Professional Bull Riding action Saturday 20th May, and if the previous PBR event at this iconic Hotel is anything to go by, it is an event not to be missed.
A number of PBR riders currently competing successfully on the lucrative US Tour are set to fly back for this event, including reigning Australian champion Cody Heffernan who only recently returned back to the USA after a short stint on home soil to compete at Yass and Julia Creek PBR’s.
However, one young man may well have the home ground advantage – Clermont’s Aaron Kleier who is no stranger at the Great Western – Before making his debut in the PBR New Year’s eve at Charters Towers, Aaron took out the Great Western’s Young Guns and Top Guns Series.
This well mannered quietly spoken young man does not have to say too much, he lets his riding do the talking – He placed on his debut, flew to Marrabel South Australia to win the event, flew to Yass placed there then backed it up with a win at the PBR’s Julia Creek Dirt n Dust Festival event – notching up an 89 point ride on Dittman’s bull Cloud Jumper in the process – Impressive by anyone’s standards.
Aaron has set himself up as a strong contender not only for the PBR’s rookie title but also the coveted Australian title which looks set to come down to the wire at the PBR Australian Finals, July 22 at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena.
Matched up against Heffernan, Kleier and other title contenders including Braydon Wellby, Cliff Richardson, Jason Mara and Sonny Schafferius, will be a line up of bucking stock not seen before at The Great Western.
Up to seven stock contractors from across Queensland including Scott Maynes from Gunnedah New South Wales will be bringing a rank pen of bulls to test the riders to the max.
The stage is set for one heck of a night of bull riding action that everyone will enjoy – Tickets on sale now, get in early to avoid missing out click on to www.greatwesternhotel.com.au/ to book your tickets.
